Our Story

About Us

SpellBodan was formed by an engineer who has been manufacturing luxury Products to the highest quality for many of the top brands on the high street since 1980. Now producing our own products, he and the team are using all the experience and techniques leant over the last 40 years to design and manufacture our writing instruments to the highest quality.
All our writing instruments are designed and crafted here at our UK factory, machined from British 925 sterling silver to achieve the finest quality. Each writing instrument is designed so that the weight is perfectly balanced to achieve smooth and effortless writing. Each instrument will carry unique serial number. All instruments are finished with a platinum plate which does not tarnish, insuring the instrument will remain looking the same for years to come without having to repeatedly polish to maintain the look. All the sterling silver material is manufactured from first time used ore of the highest quality. Therefore, will not contain any impurities from using reclaimed silver material.
The writing instruments are supplied in a lacquered presentation box with a platinum plated plaque. The presentation box also comes with a hardwood desk tray that can be either used in the box or removed and used on the desk top. The Ball pen and pencil can be purchased as a set and would come with a desk tray that accommodates both instruments. Fountain pens come with a 22ct gold plated nib as standard. This can be up graded to a solid 18kt gold nib which can also be platinum plated if the customer would prefer the nib colour to match the writing instrument colour.
Our current ranges either have the traditional barley pattern which we have enhanced with vertical lines to add to the elegant look, or our own deigned pattern which we call Georgian. This has flowing geometric lines that overlap to product a beautiful repeating pattern. All patterns are produced using to traditional guilloche method (also known as Engine Turning) of inscribing each line individually in the metal. Each item is finished and built after receiving the customer’s order and will despatched between 5 -10 after receipt of order.
